RydeVision cameras
Turn the security cameras you already have into a customer list, and see what happens in your store when you are not there.
RydeVision connects to the security cameras you already have and turns the people who walk through your door into a customer list — who came back, what they buy, and who you have not seen in a while. It is an optional add-on: you buy a small computer from Ryde that sits in your store, and a monthly plan.
What it costs
US$799 once for the kit, plus shipping, and US$49.99 per month. The monthly plan starts the day you activate your device — not the day you order it — so the time your kit spends in transit or sitting in a back office costs you nothing.
Setting it up
- Buy the kitOpen RydeVision in your merchant portal on the web and enter the address you want it shipped to. Kits ship within the United States. You pay for the kit now, and the card you enter is saved for the monthly plan.
- Plug it inWhen the box arrives, connect it to power and run a network cable between it and the same router or switch your camera recorder uses. It restarts by itself after a power cut, so you do not have to touch it again.
- Activate itInside the box is a note with an activation number. Type it into the RydeVision page in your portal or in the Ryde app. That is what starts your monthly plan and switches the cameras on.
Keep the activation number until you have used it. It is printed once and we cannot read it back to you — if it is lost, contact support and we will issue a new one.
What it does
- Recognizes returning customers and keeps their visit count, favorites, and purchase history.
- Suggests the customer standing at the register so your cashier can attach the sale with one tap.
- Helps you win back customers you have not seen — but only after they have given you an email address and agreed to hear from you.
- Records when staff arrive at the door, as evidence beside the PIN they use to open a shift.
- Raises an alert if someone is on the premises after hours, and flags a clip if someone leaves the register area with no matching sale.
Everything RydeVision flags waits for you to decide. Ryde never accuses anyone and never acts on a clip by itself — an alert is something for you to look at, not a conclusion.
Privacy and what leaves your store
Video and face data stay on the computer in your store. Ryde receives events — that a known customer arrived, that a visit happened — and never your camera feeds. Incident clips are only uploaded when an alert is raised, so you can review them from your phone.
Cameras in bathrooms or changing rooms are not allowed and cannot be configured. You are responsible for posting visible signage that cameras are in use, and for getting your staff's written consent before enrolling any of them.
A face never opens a shift, a cash drawer, or anything else. Staff still use their PIN for that — the camera only records that they arrived.
Stopping or changing your plan
You can stop renewing at any time from the RydeVision page. Your cameras keep working until the end of the period you have already paid for. If a renewal payment fails, we will tell you in the portal and your cameras stay on until that period ends.
