How BYO couriers work: real, fully vetted Ryde couriers you invite to deliver exclusively for your store.
"BYO" stands for Bring Your Own. It's a way to build your own delivery fleet by inviting specific couriers to work with your store, instead of relying only on Ryde's general courier pool.
Who a BYO courier is
A BYO courier is a real Ryde courier account — licensed, insured, and background-checked, exactly like any other courier on the platform. Inviting someone to be your BYO courier never skips or replaces that process.
Inviting someone is not the same as approving them to drive. If the person you invite doesn't already have a vetted Ryde courier account, they still have to go through the normal courier verification process before they can deliver anything.
How an invite works
- You send the inviteFrom My couriers, invite the person you want delivering for your store.
- They accept on their own accountThe person accepts using their own Ryde account and their own login — you can't create an account or set a password for them.
- The delivery relationship is setOnce accepted, that courier gets first priority for deliveries dispatched from your store.
What accepting an invite does — and doesn't — mean
- It creates a delivery relationship: your store gets first dispatch priority to that courier.
- It is not an approval to drive. A courier still needs to complete Ryde's standard vetting before they can accept any delivery.
- It never gives your store access to that person's account, documents, or login.
