Become a driver
What you need to apply to drive with Ryde and what the application process looks like from start to finish.
Driving with Ryde means giving rides, and depending on your city, delivering food, groceries, or packages too. Before you can go online, you'll complete a short application so we can verify your identity, your vehicle, and your driving history. Most applicants finish it in one sitting.
What you need to apply
- A valid driver's license.
- A government-issued ID.
- A vehicle that meets the requirements for the category you want to drive — the app shows you which categories are available in your city.
- Valid vehicle insurance and registration (matrícula) for that vehicle.
- You'll also need to pass a background check before you can go online.
What to expect
- Take some photosPhotos of your vehicle and a photo of yourself — you can do this right where you're standing, no paperwork needed yet.
- Upload your documentsYour license, ID, insurance, and registration. Each one is reviewed automatically, usually quickly.
- Sign your driver agreementA short e-signature at the end, once everything else is in.
- Get reviewed and approvedOnce every step is complete, your application submits itself — there's nothing extra to click. You'll be notified when you're approved to go online.
