How service providers work on Ryde

A quick guide to how service providers (cleaning, plumbing, salon, and more) sell bookable service packages instead of a product catalog.

If your business does cleaning, plumbing, AC repair, salon work, handyman jobs, or anything else where you go to the customer (or they come to you) for a service, you're set up on Ryde as a service provider. It's a version of the merchant account built around bookings instead of a shopping cart.

Packages, not a catalog

A restaurant or shop lists individual items with a price and stock count. As a service provider, you don't stock anything — you list service packages instead: a defined job with a clear price, like "standard home cleaning" or "AC unit diagnostic and repair." A package isn't billed by the hour; it's a fixed deliverable the customer knows they're paying for up front.

Customers book a time slot

Instead of placing an order, a customer picks one of your service packages and books it into a real time slot, the same way they'd book a ride. You see it appear on your bookings list with the date, time, and package they chose.

Getting verified as a provider

You go through the same business verification as any merchant on Ryde: proof of address, the owner's government ID, and tax registration if your business is incorporated.

Service providers go through one extra check: we match the owner's profile photo against their government ID. Because a service provider is often the person walking into a customer's home, we confirm the person behind the account is who they say they are.
