Ryde Live

Get paid for the advice, not just the visit.

Some of your work does not need you in the room. Ryde Live turns a consultation into a bookable slot in the schedule you already keep — priced by the minute, paid when the call starts, in a video room your client opens with one tap.

15 to 120 minutes Your rate per minute No app, no meeting link

A consultation is something you sell, not something you schedule around

You list it in Products & Services beside everything else you offer. Pick the length, set your rate, and it starts taking bookings.

Pick a length

15, 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. A tutor can sell a 30-minute maths session and a 15-minute check-in at the same time, at different rates.

Set your rate per minute

Ryde multiplies it out and publishes the price. The rate on screen and the amount charged are the same number, because only one of them is typed.

It books a real slot

Inside your posted hours, against your live availability. There is no "request now" for a consultation — nobody is ever waiting on you to notice.

The money waits until the call does

Booking reserves the payment. Starting the call takes it. That order is the whole promise of the product: nobody is charged for a consultation that did not happen, and you are never chasing an invoice for one that did.

  • Reserved at bookingCard and PayPal are authorized, not charged. A Ryde wallet payment moves into escrow and comes back in full if the call never runs.
  • Taken when you startThe payment is captured at the moment the consultation begins — and if the capture fails, the call does not start, so you can never run one that nobody paid for.
  • Released in full if it does not happenCancel, decline, or simply no show: the whole amount goes back, with no cancellation fee. A no-show voids itself half an hour after the slot ends without anyone filing anything.
  • No cashThere is nothing to hand over down a video call, so cash is refused on a consultation rather than left as a trap.

How a consultation runs

They book a slot

From your listing, into a real opening in your schedule. The slot is claimed there and then, so two clients can never take the same one.

Ryde reminds you both

A day before, down to a minute before, each one carrying Confirm and Can't attend — so you know who is coming before you sit down.

You start the call

The room opens for both of you. From the Ryde app it opens already signed in: no link to send, no code to read out, no waiting room.

You end it, and it closes

Both sides are captured as proof the consultation took place, and the appointment completes. The money is already yours.

Who is already selling time this way

Ryde Live is switched on for any service provider the moment they list their first consultation, and switched off again the moment they delist the last one. There is no separate application and no extra subscription.

What it saves you

  • The trip that did not need to happenA quote, a follow-up or a second opinion is often twenty minutes and no travel.
  • The scheduling threadThey pick from what you actually have open, rather than proposing three times you have to decline.
  • The awkward invoiceThe money was reserved before you sat down. Nobody has to ask for it afterwards.

Questions

Do I need Zoom, or to send a meeting link?

No. The call runs in Ryde. Your client opens the appointment and taps in; from the Ryde app the room opens already signed in, so there is no link to send, no password and no waiting room.

How do I set my price?

You add a consultation to your catalogue like any other service, pick a length from the list (15, 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes) and set your rate per minute. Ryde works out the price and shows it to the client, so the rate on screen and the amount charged can never disagree. List as many as you like — a 15-minute check-in and a 60-minute session at different rates.

When do I actually get paid?

The money is reserved when the client books, and taken when the consultation starts. Nothing is captured before then, so a call that never happens never charges anyone.

What if the client does not show up?

The appointment voids itself 30 minutes after the slot ends and the reserved money is released in full, automatically. You do not have to chase it.

Can a client cancel and get everything back?

Yes, and that is deliberate. An unstarted consultation is released in full with no cancellation fee, whether the client cancels, declines the reminder, or simply never turns up. Nothing was reserved, prepared or travelled to, so there is nothing for a fee to price.

Will my clients forget?

Ryde reminds them, on a ladder that runs from a day before down to a minute before, and reminds you too. Every reminder carries a Confirm and a Can't attend, so you know before you sit down.

Can consultations be paid in cash?

No. There is nothing to hand over remotely, so cash is refused on a video consultation. Card, PayPal and Ryde wallet all work.

Is there a limit on what a session can cost?

A single session is capped at US$500, converted into your own currency.
